ニューヨークと鹿児島を拠点とするPerforming Arts企画グループです。俳優/演出家のJun Kimを軸としてスタートし演劇やダンスなどを中心に「活きた舞台」をクリエイトしていくことを目指します。多種多様な人種・文化、またアマチュア、プロを問わず交流を図り、地域に根ざしたワークショップや公演活動などを企画・開催することを目的とします。

インターナショナルなアーティストとのコラボレーションも大いに取り入れ 「小ぶりながらも味のある」企画を創っていきます。

Kurotama Kikaku is a performing arts development group based in New York. Under the direction of actor/director Jun Kim, Kurotama Kikaku's aim is to create dynamic theater through the performing arts. Kurotrama Kikaku is associated with the dance group, Kayoko Sakoh Dance and has organized workshops and performances in both New York and Japan. Our goal is to collaborate with international artists to create

"small but tasty theater".

NYを拠点に俳優、演出家、タンゴダンサーとしてInternationalに活動。代表出演舞台に、ソニー創設を題材にしたドキュメンタリーメディア作品「HEAVENLY BENTO」で盛田昭夫氏を初演からベルリン、ボン、シンガポール、NY、東京で主演。ジム・シンプソンとシガニー・ウィーバー率いる劇団バットシアターカンパニーのオビー賞受賞作品歌舞伎プレイ「BENTEN KOZO」主演。クルト・ヴァイル作曲の音楽劇「Marie Galante」、平成中村座NY公演「夏祭り」「法界坊」(串田和美演出)、島田雅彦作「ルナ輪廻転生の物語」、ヘンデルの「メサイヤ」NY、オランダ公演など。映画/テレビでは木の実ナナ主演ドラマ「万引きGメン二階堂雪」、ジェシー・アイゼンバーグ主演映画「The Living Wake」、村上春樹の小説アフターダークをベースにした映画「416 MINUTES 」などに出演。演出家として2005年に安部公房作「制服」のステージリーディング、2008年「Kayoko Sakoh Dance-Heart to Heart」日本公演、2011年にはNY版「沓掛時次郎」を脚色、演出、出演、プロデュース。NHK大河ドラマ「篤姫」「江~姫たちの戦国~」等の作曲家、吉俣良氏とのコラボレーションでNYの劇評家達から絶賛される。2012年、NYの演劇人による東日本大震災復興支援プロジェクト「SHINSAI Theaters for Japan」に参加、演出、出演。2013年よりwork-in-progressiveプロジェクト安部公房作「The Uniform」世界初翻訳の企画・演出・主演・企画進行中。またピーター・ブルックの愛弟子で、パリ在住のヨシ笈田演出のオペラ「Curlew River」NY公演で笈田氏のアシスタントを務める。2015年に鹿児島で「ダンスパフォーマンス〜女のことば2015」を演出。2016年、2017年、NYのJudson Churchでアルゼンチンタンゴのイベントを企画、演出、プロデュース。2019年10月、鹿児島港本港区北ふ頭1号上屋を舞台に「ニューヨーク発バイリンガル劇TOKIJIRO」鹿児島公演を実現し、大好評を得る。

 

JUN KIM

Jun Kim, a native of Japan with Korean heritage, is an actor, dancer, director and teacher. He is an original member of the Bat Theater Company and has worked and collaborated with Jim Simpson and the Bat Theater for their six productions. He is also a Founder of Kurotama Kikaku Company and 2011 he produced, directed, and acted Off-Off Broadway production of "Kutsukake Tokijiro" performed at The Flea Theater.

 

He has performed more than 30 productions in Japan, Holland, Germany, Singapore, Russia and the US. His theater credits include, "Heavenly Bento" with Post Theater performed at the Aoyama Round Theatre in Tokyo, Japan Society in NY, Museum for Communication/Sophiensaele in Berlin, Bonn Biennale in Bonn, Singapore Arts Festival in Singapore, "Benten Kozo" directed by Jim Simpson (Obie), "Marie Galante" by Kurt Weill with Opera Francais de New York performed at Florence Gould Hall NY, "Natsu Matsuri" with Nakamura Kanzaburo's Heisei Nakamuraza Kabuki Theater performed at the Lincoln Center Festival directed by Kazuyoshi Kushida, the one man play "Dust Storm" by Rick Foster, "The Return of the Chocolate Smeared Woman" with Karen Finley, "Ballad of Yachiyo" by Philip Kan Gotanda, "Hold the Clock" with Yoshiko Chuma, "Saran ~people~" in Tokyo, Japan, "Foreign Exchange" with Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, "Cellophane" by Mac Wellman, "Handel's Messiah" directed by Eric Fraad performed in Holland and NY, "Sake with the Haiku Geisha", "The Country Girl", and more. His film and TV credits include "416 minutes" work-in-progress presentation of WaxFactory, "Manbiki G-man" with Nana Kinomi in Japan, "The Living Wake" with Jesse Eisenberg, "Limousine Drive" and "L Train to Brooklyn".

 

Ha has directed "SHINSAI Theaters for Japan exclusive staged-reading" at the La MaMa studio in 2012, Off-Off-Broadway production of "Kutsukake Tokijiro" by Shin Hasegawa at the Flea Theater in 2011, Work-in-progress performance of "Kutsukake Tokijiro" at CRS in 2010 and Staged Reading at Center Stage in 2009. Kayoko Sakoh Dance's "HEART TO HEART" dance performance in Japan in 2008 and also a dance performance “Word of Woman” in 2015. He produced and directed the Argentine Tango event at the Judson Church in New York in 2016 and 2017.

In 2019, he produced, directed and brought “TOKIJIRO” a bilingual play from New York to Kagoshima, Japan. It was the site-specific show took place at the North Pier Warehouse at the edge of Kagoshima Port, facing Sakurajima Volcano, the symbol of Kagoshima-city.

 

He has studied at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris and Complicite in London. He has also studied with Terese Haydon, Jacqueline Brooks who are faculty of Circle in the Square Theatre School and original members of Actors Studio in New York. He was an assistant for Yoshi Oida's direction of "Curlew River" performed in New York. In addition, he has studied classical ballet with Alfredo Corvino, Andra and Ernesta Corvino in NY. He has studied Noh Theatre (Kanze Ryu) at Takeda Noh-Shu-Kan in Japan. Jun has been giving workshops and teaching acting and movements in the US and Japan.

 

Jun Kim is a recipient of a grant from the Japan-US Arts Program of Asian Cultural Council in 2003 and studied Kabuki Theater's direction and staging with Kazuyoshi Kushida and Nakamura Kanzaburo, an artistic director of the Heisei Nakamuraza in Japan.

鹿児島市出身。ニューヨークのロッド・ロジャーズダンスカンパニーのソリストを長年務める。鹿児島のモダンダンスのパイオニア、ヤマダモダンダンス研究所主宰山田みほ子氏に師事し、ニューヨークではアルビンエイリー・アメリカンダンスシアターや、ピナ・バウシュの恩師でもあるコルビーノ・バレエなどで学ぶ。第6回鹿児島市春の新人賞受賞。振付けた作品は、THE LAMAMA ETC., NYU, SCHOMBURG CENTER FOR RESEARCH IN BLACK CULTURE, HERE, THEATER FOR THE NEW CITYなどで公演される。

2008年6月、かごしま県民交流センターにおいて“HEART TO HEART- FROM NEW YORK TO KAGOSHIMA”ダンス公演を開催し、ニューヨークからのダンサーたちと、NHK大河ドラマ『篤姫』などの作曲家、吉俣良氏をはじめとする鹿児島の音楽家やダンサー、アーティストとのコラボレーションを実現し好評を得る。2011年秋、NYオフ・オフ・ブロードウェイ公演“KUTSUKAKE TOKIJIRO”の振付で辛口批評家から大好評を博す。2012年3月”震災Theater for Japan”、2013年3月”Remember 3.11”をニューヨークの俳優・アーティストたちと開催し、パフォーミングアーツを通して東日本大震災復興支援活動を行う。

鹿児島県高校ダンス発表会の審査員並びに生徒たちへの委託指導も積極的に行なっている。2014年8月、2015年9月の2年連続で「女のことば」ダンス公演を鹿児島市で開催。ダンスと詩を融合したステージをクリエイトした。また2016年、2017年にはかごしま明治維新博イベント、甲突川「水辺のフェスティバル」に振付/出演し、地元アーティストとの交流活動を活発に行っている。

2019年10月、鹿児島港本港区北ふ頭1号上屋に於いて「ニューヨーク発バイリンガル劇TOKIJIRO」鹿児島公演を開催し、ニューヨークからの俳優陣と鹿児島のダンサー、そしてライブミュージックが一体となって織りなすオリジナルステージを創り上げた。

さこうかよこ  Kayoko Sakoh

Kayoko Sakoh is a native of Japan. She started her dancing career with Mihoko Yamada in Kagoshima, Japan where she won a "New Artistic Talent" award. She began to embody her expressions by choreographing and performing dance. In New York, she studied modern and jazz dance with Ann Marie Forsythe, Miguel Godreau at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Milton Myers and has also studied ballet with Dr. Alfredo Corvino (faculty member of the Julliard School for 45 years and Ballet Master to Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wuppertal) as well as Andra Corvino and Ernesta Corvino. 

Kayoko has performed with Kristin Jackson Dance, Chen & Dancers, Ernesta Corvino's Dance Circle Company and others. Since October of 1993, she joined the Rod Rodgers Dance Company (RRDC). Working with the RRDC, Ms. Sakoh has pursued her own language of dance as an individual choreographer. The pieces choreographed by her in New York have been performed at the Theater for New City, The La MaMa Theatre, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, NYU, Dance Space, HERE Arts Center, BAX (Brooklyn Arts Exchange), and Solar Powered Dance Festival. She choreographed a stage for jazz musician, Leon Parker for his Central Park Summer Stage in 1999 and also appeared in Mr. Parker's CD, "The Simple Life" as a vocalist. Also Kayoko has had her dance workshop in Japan to exchange and communicate with local dancers through dance. In June of 2008, she had performances in Kagoshima, Japan "HERT TO HEART- From New York to Kagoshima"  with dancers from New York to introduce New York's arts scene to Japanese audience, she collaborated with local dancers, musicians and artists in a cultural exchange. 

Ms. Sakoh has expanded her ability of choreography to theater works. She is a core artist of Kurotama Kikaku which is a performing arts development group led by the artistic director, Jun Kim. Kayoko has worked for the off-off-Broadway production, "Kutsukake Tokijiro" at the Flea Theater in 2011 and has garnered praise from New York critics, such as "violence is created in a stylized and satisfying form. -TheaterScene-"; "Fights move as dances without ever losing the sense of conflict and aggression in their grace. I've never seen anything quite like it. -nytheatre-", "The fight choreography is terrific. -Joe's View-." The company performed "SHINSAI Theaters for Japan" which was for the one-year anniversary of the earthquake that devastated Tohoku, Japan in March, 2011. She holds her dance workshop in Japan since 2003.

In 2014 and 2015, during nursing her mother, Kayoko created and presented a dance performance "Word of Woman" which inspired by Noriko Ibaragi's poetry. The performance, which combines dance, poetry and reading, captivated the audience. The most biggest event in 2019 was "TOKIJIRO" a bilingual play from New York. The production created with the director, Jun Kim was a huge success with actors from New York, dancers in Kagoshima and live musicians.

Kurotama(1990~2005)

1990年ニューヨーク生まれ。生後5週間ほどでJunとKayokoの里子となる。Black & Whiteの肩のあたりに黒いドット(丸印)があったため、単純に黒い玉で「くろたま」と名付けられる。幼少期はやんちゃで暴れん坊。高所に駆け上がることと、布団の端っこに爪をかけ這いずり回ることを特技とする。青年期はカーネギーホール裏のアパートの窓から多くの有名アーティスト達がバックステージを出入りするのを見て暮らし、中高年期はマンハッタン北部のワシントンハイツで日の出を見て暮らした。晩年は病気に悩まされたが、2005年4月15日に飼い主たちに見守られ15年の人生を全うした。良き日も悪しき日も、くろたまはくろたまらしくいてくれた。彼にリスペクトの意を込めてグループ名を「kurotamakikaku」と命名。

My name is Kurotama. I was born in 1990, a native New Yorker. According to Jun and Kayoko, I was adapted by them when I was 5 weeks after birth. Since then, they were my parents. I was called "Kurotama" which means "a black dot" in Japanese because I had a black dot on my shoulder.​  By the way, I was a boy and had beautiful black & white coat. I remembered that I was a naughty and active kitten. My  favorite play was to climb a high place in the apartment in Manhattan. Also my specialty was crawling on futon mattress. I was living in midtown when I was young. It was fun to watch famous artists entering  from the back door of the Carnegie Hall from the high window of the apartment. In middle age, I lived in Washington Heights where I could see the sunrise. I became sick with age, however, my life was pretty good until April 15, 2005.

 

Now, I'm existing here as respect for Jun and Kayoko.
